Mario, do you know why Brown didn't invite Zapatero last monday to the meeting with Merkel, Sarko and even the dismissed Prodi? It has been a hard strike to european politics of PSOE.
Besides, yesterday, Rajoy was backed in Paris by Sarkozy and Merkel. It is the great news of all the conservative parties in Spain.
I can't understand this intromission in Spanish elections.

It is ridiculous that at the end of the meeting of London, Brown said that the european financial system is strong and stable, just when Sociéte Génerale (France) has lost 6 billion euros due to a bad management and a lack of security, and the Northern Rock Bank (UK) is in bankruptcy, and they are still waiting for a help of Santander (Spain). The problem is that Gordon Brown is not a leader, like Blair was. Good news for the tories in the UK.
The reason Zapatero wasn't invited was that the idea was to put together a meeting of European leaders that are present in the G8, which Spain isn't part of. The problem is that you cannot have a common answer if the UK isn't in the euro, Sarkozy is a protectionist, Merkel a conservative and Prodi, well he just isn't anymore. Having had Zapatero there would have actually done some good, Solbes is currently the most able Economics Minister in Europe. Spain is in good hands with him.
